Ok, so I’ve been away from my blog for a while, but I’ve got excuses. Plenty of them, in fact.

Firstly, I got dragged (willingly, I might add) into the whole triathlon thing. So I needed a new bicycle:

Then, of course, in order to be able to take pictures of triathlons, bike races and such (because I was now hanging out with a bona fide athlete, even if I wasn’t one) I needed a new camera. So I got one:

And, of course, I had to spend time getting to know the camera and taking lots of pictures (see my gallery). Then I needed a new laptop to do fun things with the images. So, of course, I got one of them too. The cat was an optional extra:

Naturally that meant that I needed to spend time configuring the laptop, installing software, putting pictures onto the laptop and being otherwise distracted from blogging. So I did that. And was more distracted.

Then my old car decided to start misbehaving and I was faced with quite the dilemma. New car, used car, new bike, used bike, no bike. What to do, what to do. So, of course, I bought the S4:

And seemingly I’d given up on the whole idea of also having a 2-wheeled toy. Of course, though, the thought of some cool Italian toy stayed in my head so when I saw it, I had to have it - Aprilia RSV1000 Factory:

Sometimes you just have to say “What the Fuck”, live a little irresponsibly, and acquire a shitload of new toys.

Oh, and I also invested a little in my future:

Life is good.

    You forgot -
wetsuit, fluid trainer, heart rate monitor, running shoes x2, cycling clothes, running clothes, swim gear, swim coaching, USAT license, race entry fees, trip to Cape Town to introduce me to the family…

    Did I miss anything?

You forgot Zipp 404’s. Wait, those were for you …

The other stuff was just a bunch of essentials.

    What’s next? Maybe a Citation X or a Falcon 900?

I’m thinking that a Felt B2 would be the next toy to get. After Sunday’s tri I think I need one to close the little gap between Kerry’s and my times - 40 seconds (and she had the Zipp 404’s, a tricked out aero front fork, a time trial helmet and about 10 years of cycling).
