Today I am another day older. As it turns out, I’m also another year older. Woohoo, today is my birthday so I thought I’d take 30 or so seconds to list some of the highlights and lowlights of the previous year:
- I went to JavaOne and Microsoft Tech.Ed. (I’m a software geek by profession).
- I attended California Superbike School. Twice. The school, IMO, is one of the most fun things you can do on two wheels. One of them was down in Virginia, so I took the opportunity to fly myself down there in a friend’s airplane. Who needs commercial airlines when you can fly yourself …
- I lowsided going into turn 2 at Loudon. More injured pride and bike damage than anything else.
- I had a sucky year from an aerobatic competition year and haven’t flown my airplane nearly as much as I should have.
- I took a vacation trip to the Bahamas, water skied, scuba dived, watched sharks getting fed and generally had fun.
- I ditched the old girlfriend. Finally.
- I took an impromptu vacation trip to St. Thomas. More scuba diving, wedding crashing (oh if you haven’t done this yet, you’ve got to try it. Way too much fun), and other illicit activities.
- I met the girl of my dreams. Started running. And swimming. And cycling. Apparently I’m into torture as a form of recreation.
We’ll see how the next 366 days go …
